華安縣是福建省漳州市轄縣，位于福建省南部，漳州市北端，是祖國大陸高山族人聚居最多的縣。如果恰逢喜慶節日或者婚禮，就會看到當地的高山族人身著“七彩”的民族服裝跳起拉手舞。

拉手舞是高山族民間舞蹈中歷史最為悠久、流傳廣泛的一種自娛性舞蹈，具有濃郁的原始舞蹈風格，跳起來天真浪漫、熱情奔放，氛圍十分熱鬧。高山族舞蹈的包容性極強，三五個人可以跳，幾十人、上百人也不算多。

拉手舞步伐簡單、節奏鮮明，舞蹈分為兩種圓圈形式，分別是左右相鄰者聯手的小拉手式和相隔的人交叉拉手的大拉手式。舞蹈動作都是跟隨著領唱走的，歌詞多為贊揚祖先和英雄的業績，贊揚家鄉的美。

作為國家級非物質文化遺產代表性項目高山族拉手舞的省級代表性傳承人，高建生說:“現在很多人把拉手舞當成廣場舞在跳。我們的拉手舞現在在學校里面被推廣為課間操。跳拉手舞的大部分都是年輕人跟小孩?！比缃?，非物質文化遺產走進了校園，讓學校成為了保護和傳承非物質文化遺產中不可或缺的重要場域，也讓非物質文化遺產能在青少年一代身上更好的繼承與發展。
